So what now?

Well, it happened. But then again we all knew it would. The Republicans all but slaughtered the Democrats in the Mid-term elections. Some of you will be surprised by my reaction though.
While there are those out there who would think I would be ripping my hair out, I'm actually quite content.
While I think I would be feeling differently if the Republicans could claim the kind of powerful majority that the Democrats could for four years as of right now I'm not to worried. The fact of the matter is that the Democrats still control the Senate and have the Presidency. This kind of balancing out could actually help the country.
With the voters turning out and pushing the Democrats out of power the Democrats will be more willing to get along with the Republicans now that they realize people won't wait for them to sit around and do nothing but promise to make things better. On the other hand the Republicans can not just sit around and say no to all the ideas that Obama puts in front of them, otherwise they will get nothing done and will be pushed out of power again for falling back on their promises.
The Democrats are now being put into a position where they'll be forced to work together more efficiently if they want to make any progress while the Republicans can't just be the party of "No" any longer.
I am however annoyed at the people who sat there and chanted "U.S.A." over and over again when John Boehner took the stage last night (that guy is a dick). This country never stopped being America. This is the thing that bothers me about the Republicans. It's now the hip thing to oppose the President but when I said that I didn't like their guy I was criticized and told that I was a terrorist sympathizer and everything else. I love this country as much as any die hard Republican does. I'm just more of an adult when it comes to the way it does things.
To all my political junkies out there. Good night, and good luck.
